How To Play Basketball: 5 Simple Tips Guaranteed To Make You A Better Player

1. Move Without The ball

Moving without the ball can really add Lots of points to your scoring average. If you master all the techniques you can do when moving without the ball you can easily add 6-10 points to your average. Now, there are really too many useful techniques for me to teach all of them to you in writing. That’s why I advice ALL of you to get the dvd scoring without the ball by better basketball; it’s hugely helpful to see these techniques as you learn them. Nevertheless, here are some basics you can do to start implementing movement without the ball in your game.

- When you don’t have the ball; don’t ever stand in the same place for more then 5 sec unless you’re running a play.

- If your defender turns his head away from you or does anything where he looses sight of you for even half a sec; immediately relocate to another area on the court.

- On fast breaks always do your best to get ahead of the ball handler and as soon as you reach the ft line cut to the basket and raise your hand to ask for the ball.

- Use a back cut when your defender overplays or denies. And use a front cut when your defender plays off.

2. Always Play Low

Play low as much as possible. If you can’t touch your knees with your hands your not ready to play basketball.

3. Watch Game Film

This should become a routine for you. Before every game you should try to watch film of the team you’re playing to prepare yourself. While watching the film you should pay most of your attention on how the team defends. This will give you an idea of how you will be defended so when the game comes there won’t be many surprises. And if you don’t have access to film try to go watch the team you’re up against playing another team.

4. Get Alot of Sleep

Get between 8-10 hours of sleep the night before all your games. This will allow your body to regenerate and you’ll have plenty of energy for game day.

5. Always Remember These 2 Things:

1. Hard work beats talent if talent fails to work hard.

2. Its ok for someone to be bigger then you, faster then you or even stronger then you but there’s no excuse for someone to be working harder then you.
